Gun-Grabber Pornography

By Nicholas Stix

In an Arab Moslem Deli in my neighborhood, after taking my son to school yesterday morning, I saw the front page of the Daily News. It’s one for the ages, but not in a good sense. It includes a hook to a column by the News’ resident political philosopher, Mike Lupica.

I downloaded 27 Microsoft updates a couple of days ago, and suddenly can’t download graphics on my blogs, or open up my main AOL mail, which I can use to download graphics through the backdoor, as it were, but fortunately, the Countenance blogmeister has re-published a huge image of that front page, which shall live in infamy. (Oh, I’m sure that Lupica and his comrades at the News, the DNC, and the West Wing are immensely proud of that edition.)

If any readers are familiar with my graphics/email problem, I’d appreciate any information they might have. Thanks, in advance!

As you probably know, Truman held up the Chicago Tribune with the "Dewey Defeats Truman" headline at St. Louis Union Station.

The last Microsoft Patch Tuesday was a disaster for a lot of people. If you can, see if you can uninstall the updates you most recently installed. Then for the time being, turn off updates.

Thanks for the tip, Blogmeister!

And no, I hadn't known where Truman held up the Trib in the pic. Now that you mention it, did Harry win that one legit, or was it a traditional Democratic victory?

Maybe there were some of those "traditional" campaign tactics involved, but Thomas Dewey was so arrogant and haughty, and such the RINO for his day, that I don't feel bad at all that he lost.

Sure, Truman integrated the military by EO, but Dewey probably would have done the same thing.

Truman led the popular vote by well over 2 million, but if about 30 thousand votes in several close states had shifted, Dewey would have won in the electoral college.

Having Henry Wallace and Strom Thurmond in the race made pundits think a Truman win was impossible.
