Those Voters aren’t Coming Back: Pat Buchanan Mocks John McCain… Again

By Nicholas Stix

During the 2008 presidential campaign, when Republican voters called on Republican candidate, Sen. John McCain (Media-AZ), to re-industrialize America, in order to recover the jobs lost to outsourcing, McCain’s pithy response was, “Those jobs aren’t coming back.”

The logical complement to such a belief would be to close the borders tight as a drum to all immigration, legal and illegal, and deport the over 20 million illegal alien invaders within our borders.

But McCain was and remains instead an open borders maniac.

That means he supported a politics of more people, fewer jobs, and thus a permanent depression economy.

In Pat Buchanan’s newest column, “Who Killed the ‘New Majority’? The GOP's Self-Inflicted Wounds,” he gives McCain a dig, through an allusion to the latter’s 2008 statement:

• “Third, to accommodate its K Street bundlers, the GOP embraced globalism, empowering Corporate America to shed its U.S. labor force, move its plants to Mexico, Asia and China, bring its foreign-made goods back to the USA free of charge and pocket the difference.

“Profits, stocks, dividends soared. But the Reagan Democrats of industrial America—who paid the price in lost jobs and shuttered plants from the $10 trillion in trade deficits America has run since George H.W. Bush—have now gone home to the party of their fathers. And they are not coming back.”
