Progressives to Launch an Environmental Impact Statement on U.S. Immigration Policy
On Wednesday, August 1, 2012, Progressives for Immigration Reform (PFIR) announced a major new project: an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) on U.S. immigration policy. PFIR also unveiled the website for the new project, and invited public comments on the proper scope and parameters of the study.
In recent decades, American environmentalists have debated about whether or not to weigh in on U.S. immigration policy. Many environmentalists have wondered:
* What roles immigration and population growth play in driving the problems environmentalists seek to solve?
* Can these problems be solved without addressing immigration and immigration-driven population growth?
* What are the policy choices with regard to immigration levels, and how can we choose fairly and wisely among them?
The main policy decision to be evaluated in the new EIS is what level Congress should set for annual immigration into the United States. Current legal immigration into the U.S. is now approximately 950,000 people per year, while an average of 300,000 to 400,000 people immigrate illegally.
According to Dr. Philip Cafaro, a principal investigator in the study: "The EIS will identify a number of plausible alternative immigration scenarios, regarding how many immigrants to allow into the country annually. The study will also develop demographic projections specifying future U.S. populations, based on these different annual immigration rates." This will be followed by detailed analyses examining the likely ecological impacts of different population sizes in areas such as; urban sprawl and farmland loss; water demands and withdrawals from natural systems; greenhouse gas emissions and resultant climate change; habitat loss and impacts on biodiversity; energy demands and national security implications; and the international ecological impacts of U.S. immigration policies.
"The EIS project aims to develop a thorough, objective analysis of the ecological impacts of U.S. immigration policy, so that policy decisions can be made in full knowledge of those impacts," stated Leah Durant, Executive Director of PFIR.
PFIR hereby solicits public comment on the scope and methodology of this new Environmental Impact Statement on U.S. immigration policy. This initial "scoping" phase of the study will last through October 1. More information can be found by visiting http://www.immigrationeis.org/.

Too many big moneyed open-borders fanatics aren't going to let this effort gain any traction and use the existing, long established supposed environmental groups to drown out this noise.
The enemy has an agenda and they are not going to let anyone stand in their way, even if they have to spend our last dime defeating us.
You have to know how David Gelbaum gave a $100 million dollar donation to the Sierra Club on the condition that they never speak on immigration again. The same tactic has been used on all of these environmental groups to shut them up.

This incident has created a stir locally, while I am happy this scum has been arrested I'm disturbed at the same time. First off you can't help but notice he's white, which is fine, I'm all for arresting white pimps. However, he doesn't appear to be flashy or attention getting, if anything he was operating below the radar yet they still arrested him. Great, kudos to the police and their fine work. So why does this fine police work fail when pimps are "ahem" african american? It's rare for pimps to be arrested in this city, it happens from time to time but considering that Portland has been described by the media as a hub for underage trafficking it seem like there should be regular arrests. Adult black male pimps can be observed regularly staking out underage dance clubs or rehab centers for girls involved in prostitution, I walked by a "pimpmobile" with tinted windows jsut the other day outside of one and it was obvious what he was doing there. The shout of "I got something for you baby" is commonly heard on city streets, the "something" being, of course, free drugs since pimps understand the connection between drug addiction and prostitution. You can see black pimps and their "girls" lurking together around motels during the days around prostitution hotspots, some of the girls couldn't possibly be over 18, though the "men" they are with clearly are much older. Many of these guys are flamboyant, advertising what they are to the world. So where is this brilliant detective work when it comes to these guys? How hard can it be to set up some stings to nail these guys, at least force them underground so they can't practice their "craft" easily in the open. Could it be that law enforcement turns it back because the pimps are almost virutally all black? No. say it ain's so.
OK, so while local police smugly pat themselves on the back having put the evil white pimp out of business and the public sits back feeling protected by our boys in blue black pimps continue to operate much the way the always have, freely and openly while the public and police turn their backs.
